University Students’ Council launches user-friendly “Western Link” event planning system

The University Students’ Council (USC) is proud to announce the official launch of its new innovative and streamlined event planning and programming site, Western Link. The new site will ensure the event planning procedure for student clubs and faculty councils will be a simple and efficient process.

Students experienced some difficulty with using the USC’s previous event submission website. Western Link will assist the USC in empowering students to manage and grow their organizations while providing a centralized platform to organize and increase student involvement opportunities. This system will provide student club executives with the ability to organize their own websites, photo galleries, online elections and integrate their social media hubs. Club members will be able to login and stay up-to-date with new feeds and a virtual bulletin board. Students will be able to find clubs based on their specific interests, activities or events.

“I am excited to see what this program will be able to do to better support and organize the Clubs Community. In addition, an extra-curricular experiences portion of the system will help advance the USC’s ability to works towards providing co-curricular transcripts for students to help them demonstrate to their future employers what they learned outside the class room at Western,” explained USC Vice President Student Events, Erin Uberig.
