University Students’ Council to recruit student leaders to sit on Board of Directors

The University Students’ Council has opened applications for students-at-large who wish to sit on the USC’s Board of Directors for one or two year terms starting during the 2013-2014 academic school year. These positions were necessitated by changes made to USC by-laws on December 5th, 2012 in order to strengthen the board’s functions.

The student directors are to represent a student perspective with regards to the management of the USC’s corporate affairs. This involves understanding elements of corporate governance, financial management and leadership development. Additionally, board members will be expected to attend monthly board meetings, including board committee meetings.

Applications will remain open until February 15th, 2013. In total, there will be five positions available with three on a one-year term and two on a two-year term. Each term will begin on June 1st, 2013. For more information regarding this position, or to apply please visit:
