Description

Autism Awareness Western is a club that promotes the awareness of autism and raise funds to support people and families with autism in a meaningful way.  With a passionate membership, this club will work closely with both the Western student body and the surrounding community to educate students and citizens about autism.  Autism is a hidden disability because you can't always tell when someone is affected by it.  This makes education and awareness activities even more vital to help and support these individuals.  Mission: 1. To work with both the Western student body and the London community in order to educate and provide awareness about autism including its unique presentations in people of all ages and stages, possible causes, different struggles of individuals and their families, proven interventions and therapies,  and ways of integration in the society. 2. To effectively and continuously branch out within the London community and on campus to develop and maintain relationships with various organizations and club members 3. To present a wide array of opportunities and possibilities to club members in the field of Autism education, understanding, treatment, interventions and peer socialization so that club members can take advantage of and fulfill their membership goals.
