Dignitas Youth

Summary

To strengthen and improve Western University’s involvement in the global fight against HIV/AIDS in Malawi.

Description

Vision: To strengthen and improve Western University’s involvement in the global fight against HIV/AIDS in Malawi, specifically to educate and facilitate students’ understanding and involvement in sustainable aid in Malawi by empowering them to become the global leaders of tomorrow. We are Western University’s chapter of Dignitas International's Dignitas Youth Program. Dignitas Youth Western is a student run club whose main objective is to raise awareness on the issue of HIV/AIDS, raise money to treat and educate people in Malawi on the preventative measures that can be taken to combat HIV/AIDS, as well as to bring together people in the Western community that have a similar passion to support awareness, education, treatment, and prevention of HIV/AIDS in developing nations.  Dignitas International is a not-for-profit organization that prides itself on raising awareness on the issue of HIV/AIDS and their unique approach to helping people who live with HIV/AIDS in poverty. Unlike many other charities Dignitas International does not use a “band-aid” solution. They educate the locals about preventative measures and practices that will create a better future for the people that are living with HIV/AIDS in Malawi.
